MEET CICI

A couple of weeks ago, we got a call that no rescue wants. One of our previous adopters had passed away unexpectedly, and his dogs were in the care of animal control. One of the benefits of rescue is the lifetime commitment we make to our dogs. That means we are a safety net if the dog is ever in need of a home again, for whatever reason. Those dogs are Cici and Baxter. They have been well loved and cared for by their adopter, and they’re both wonderful dogs.

Our Sweet Senior Lady Cici is a 13-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who still has plenty of pep in her step! Despite her age, she’s young at heart, mobile, and loves joining her owners for walks, outings, and any kind of outdoor adventure. One of her favorite pastimes is playing fetch — though these days her eyes don’t always track the ball quite as well, her enthusiasm for the game hasn’t faded a bit. Cici enjoys long walks that let her stretch her legs and sniff to her heart’s content, but she’s equally happy curling up on the couch to relax and watch TV with her people. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is perfectly content to coexist peacefully, even if she’s not the most playful pup in the bunch. Cici is the perfect mix of spirited adventure companion and cozy cuddle buddy — a gentle reminder that age is just a number when your heart is full of love and loyalty.

These dogs are currently staying with their doggie day care sitter, and she knows them very well. She feels strongly that they would be fine in a home together, with other dogs, or as single dogs. They are not a bonded pair, and we would adopt them separately or together.

If you think you would like to help Cici begin her next chapter, please apply! We adopt to homes in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Her adoption fee is $300.
