MEET BAXTER
A couple of weeks ago, we got a call that no rescue wants. One of our previous adopters had passed away unexpectedly, and his dogs were in the care of animal control. One of the benefits of rescue is the lifetime commitment we make to our dogs. That means we are a safety net if the dog is ever in need of a home again, for whatever reason. Those dogs are Cici and Baxter. They have been well loved and cared for by their adopter, and they’re both wonderful dogs.
Baxter is our Forever Young Gentleman. He is a 10-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a lean build and a youthful spark that never seems to fade. He’s playful, social, and always ready to join in on a game or a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. Though he’s full of life, Baxter also knows how to relax — there’s nothing he loves more than curling up (often belly-up!) for a good movie night with his favorite humans. When meeting new dogs or animals, Baxter’s excitement shows through, but once introductions are made, he settles in beautifully and enjoys everyone’s company. He’s the perfect mix of energy and easygoing charm — a loyal, loving companion who brings warmth and laughter wherever he goes.
These dogs are currently staying with their doggie day care sitter, and she knows them very well. She feels strongly that they would be fine in a home together, with other dogs, or as single dogs. They are not a bonded pair, and we would adopt them separately or together.
If you think you would like to help Baxter begin his next chapter, please apply! We adopt to homes in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. His adoption fee is $300.
