MEET THOR
Meet Thor (a.k.a. Thornton)
Everything is an adventure for this super-sweet senior boy is his new foster home!
Thor is a retired hunting dog who lived on a chain. When his owner could no longer care for him, he was surrendered to a shelter along with his GSP brother. The shelter discovered that both boys were heartworm positive and had intestinal parasites as well. They did an amazing job getting their treatment started and reached out to rescue for these handsome boys.
For the first time ever, Thor is sleeping on warm blankets in his foster home and learning to be an inside dog. He’s doing so well that once his treatment is over, he says he’s ready for a forever home. He’s smart enough to know a good thing when he sees it!! Housebreaking? No problem. Soft beds? Yes, please. Counter surfing? Why not? Actually, he’s quickly learning not to do that, but it’s easy to understand why he would be curious. He’s also learning how to play with toys like a normal dog. He loves to sniff outside and check everything out in the yard, and when his treatment is finished and he can romp around safely, he can’t wait to patrol the yard for birds and squirrels.
This boy is such a chill, happy dog. He just wants to be with people and be part of a family. He gets along with other dogs, but he has never been around cats. He rides well in the car and would enjoy travelling with you.
Thor is 9 years old, neutered and up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee will be $300. We adopt to Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
